Design festival segment intro
Lead motion graphics designer / Jul - Sep 2023
An annual design festival contains a segment where participants can submit creative projects to be featured in an online gallery.
It kicks off with a video where select creators showcase their design process. I create this video each year by sourcing featured creators, guiding them through storytelling and footage collection, and editing it all together into a cohesive story.
This is the introduction I animated for this video, created using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, and Cinema4D.
In the initial storyboard, I created rough designs and mapped out the motion.

I then completed more detailed illustrations and added color, working within the festival’s brand guidelines.

I integrated Cinema4D into my usual After Effects workflow to produce a more realistic animation of falling objects. Utilizing the dynamics from the 3D software produced a better result and took a fraction of the time that animating the gravity by hand would have.
